Online Games
Below are some FREE online games that I use in class.
Cram is fun and interactive.
The platform for placing your information resembles study cards but here is where the fun is. It turns the study cards into games such Jewels and Stellar shooter game. |
Classtools was one of the first websites that I used with students. The kids Love Pacman game on there. You can create FREE games, quizzes, diagrams. There is no charge or fees.
|
Review Game Zone is probably one of the best sites that I have used so far. It allows the teacher to make a test sets and choose different games for students to play. Plus its FREE!!! A new feature that they have placed is a track my progress feature. Students login with code and see their progress.

PLAY4A
This is another great platform to have students test their content knowledge. This is another free resource that I found and students love playing it.
Just like another quiz site you need to create an account, add your questions and answers. The only draw back is that there is a limit of words you can use in the questions and answer boxes. So your questions have to be precise. Once your done link the site to students and have them enter the code for the specific game. |
Blooket
This is new site that I have been playing with students. Similar to Gimkit but this one is free and has more ways to sabotage other players. Students found this one to be more competitive than Gimkit. They have this one a 10 out of 10.

QUIZZIZ
I use quizziz for formative assessments and practice drills. You can assign it to google classroom and keep track of their progress. It was recently updated to where you can import youtube videos and added new features such as checkboxes, fill in the blank, poll and open ended questions. Great resource.

KAHOOT
Free, Fun and entertaining for students. Teachers are able to track student progress by downloading reports that show the percentage as a class and individual student responses. Another great testing tool for teachers and students. To Unlock more question types, collaborate with colleagues, and access advanced reports you would have to upgrade to pro or premium that can range from $3-$6 dollars a month.
$ Paid for sites $
GIMKIT
Gimkit is another testing website that is fun and interactive. Students have a time limit or have to reach a certain amount of money that is set by the teacher. Students can steal, use power ups and freeze their opponents from answering.
There is a limit on how many kits you can make unfortunately but I did hear the price is $5.99 monthly. |
SMART Learning Suite
Loved using this program in class!!! If you have a smart tv, (one screen, quomo) touch screen tv this is the program for you. Student can play on any smart device cell, phone tablet etc. Students play fun games such as monster hatch, match them up, game show, racing based off questions the teacher creates. This was free trial at my district but now I would need to pay for a subscription. I would suggest that the school look into buying the license/subscription for the campus. Its a good platform to use and allows the teacher to collect data and individual students progress.
